It was Liam Everts who caught everyone's eye in the first MX2 moto. The young Belgian secured his best career result in the MX2 World Championship at the MXGP of Italy with an excellent eighth place overall.

· Challenging conditions on race Sunday
· Next MXGP in Sardinia (ITA) - Riola Sardo
Already on Saturday, Liam Everts showed a strong fighting performance after a crash in the first lap and secured 16th place in the end with consistent lap times under 1:50 min.
In the first race on Sunday it was Liam Everts who, after a good start in sixth place, did not let himself be distracted and attracted everyone's attention. The 17-year-old Belgian concentrated and confidently reeled off his laps on the super demanding and grooved track and in the end narrowly missed out on the podium with fourth place.
In the second race, Liam Everts only came back from the first lap in 14th place after a bad start and was involved in fights in the midfield throughout the race. Towards the end of the race Everts managed to secure 13th place.
In the daily standings, Liam Everts took eighth place overall with fourth and 13th places.
Liam Everts: "On Saturday I struggled with the very fast track and still made the best of it after my crash in the qualifying race. Due to the rain in the night from Saturday to Sunday, we had very challenging conditions on race Sunday and the starts were very crucial. In the first heat, I was able to get through the first corners perfectly and I'm really happy about my first top 5 result. In the second race I had spinning tyres at the start and was the very last to turn into the first corner. I made the best of it with 13th place and will take a lot of confidence to Sardinia after my first top 10 overall result."
The next race for DIGA Procross KTM Racing will take place in Sardinia at Riola Sardo on May 15.
