· Challenging start to the season for DIGA Procross KTM athletes
· Liam Everts finishes ninth in MX2
· Thomas Kjer Olsen takes ninth place in MX1 and in the Super Final
In the strong MX2 class, 17-year-old Belgian Liam Everts finished seventh in the first heat. In the second heat, Everts was in sixth place for a long time until a mistake dropped him down to eleventh. In the day's overall Everts finished in ninth place. In the Superfinal together with the MX1 riders, Everts finished 19th after a crash at the start of the race.
Liam Everts: "I didn't feel 100% the whole day and struggled a lot. However, I made the best of the day. It's important to get into race rhythm and train under race conditions. My focus now is on preparing for Hawkstone Park."
Liam's teammate Thomas Kjer Olsen put in a solid performance in MX1. Kjer Olsen finished tenth in the first heat and ninth in the second heat, which meant ninth overall. In the Superfinal, the Dane made it to ninth place.
Thomas Kjer Olsen: "The track in Lacapelle Marival had a lot of ruts due to the rain over the last few days and was super technical. From session to session I felt more comfortable on the demanding track. Still, I'm happy that we have one more pre-season race before the MXGP season opener at Matterley Basin to get into the rhythm even better."
DIGA Procross KTM Racing will take part in next weekend's pre-season race at Hawstone Park ahead of the MXGP season opener at Matterley Basin (UK) on February 20.
