GASGAS Factory Racing’s Isak Gifting has put together two strong races to claim sixth overall in the MX2 class at round four of the FIM Motocross World Championship. For Isak’s teammate Simon Längenfelder, the young German led the initial stages of race one before two crashes contributed to an 11th place finish.

Isak Gifting: “Today was a good step in the right direction for me. I felt great on my bike all day, as soon as I got on the track I found my flow and that gave me a lot of confidence right away. I still need to work on my starts a little, I think I could have done better if I was a little closer to the front but overall, decent progress and I fought hard in both races for a good result.”

Round four of FIM Motocross World Championship took GASGAS Factory Racing to an all-new venue for the series in Oss, The Netherlands. The sandy terrain mixed with warm sunny weather created perfect track conditions, which were to the liking of all racers.

For MX2 racer Isak Gifting, round four of the series saw the Swede finally back up front on his MC 250F. Charging through the field from a mid-pack start in race one, Gifting battled for the whole moto and moved into seventh on the final lap to cross the finish line and claim his season-best race result.

In race two, Isak enjoyed a much better start and moved into eighth-place on lap five. The 20-year-old went on to complete the moto in eighth, which paired with his race one result, meant he was rewarded with a season-best overall finish of sixth. With a confidence-boosting pair of results under his belt, Gifting will now focus on improving his starts and continue to re-establish himself as one of the hottest prospects in the MX2 World Championship.

The MXGP of The Netherlands started off with Simon Langenfelder holeshotting race one and leading plenty of laps aboard his MC 250F. As the moto continued, the German settled into fifth place where he’d remain until the final lap when a big crash sent the youngster to the ground. Fortunately, he was able to dust himself off and finish in 11th. In moto two, a coming together with another rider damaged the 17-year-old’s bike and he was unable to continue. Nevertheless, Simon remains in good spirits ahead of round six next weekend.

Simon Längenfelder: “An up and down day for me. Holeshotting and leading race one, well, that was an amazing feeling! I was a little tight and dropped back a few places but then unfortunately I had a big crash on the last lap. It was really frustrating but I was able to finish the moto in eleventh. I was a bit sore for race two and didn’t quite get the same start. I then crashed with another rider, which damaged my bike too much to continue. Overall, I’ll focus on the positives from today and I’m looking forward to more hardpack next weekend.”

DIGA Procross GASGAS Factory Racing will now head to the Czech Republic for the next stop of the FIM Motocross World Championship, round five of the series that takes place on July 25.
